My journey began with a simple but profound realization: an individual’s well-being is deeply connected to the health of their community. My background in both behavioral and public health showed me this truth firsthand. I saw how the weight of history and the wounds passed down through generations could impact a person’s life, creating a cycle that was hard to break.

This understanding sparked a fire in me. It wasn’t enough to just help people cope with their struggles; I felt a calling to address the bigger picture. Understanding my place and roles within social justice, along with my belief that true healing happens when we seek to ‘re-member’ ourselves as whole connected individuals, families and communities. My mission was to help bring those on the margins and into the center, where they could be seen, heard, and supported.

This vision became the foundation of Best Self. I wanted to create a sanctuary where people could find the resources and support they needed to thrive. We built this space with a special focus on serving BIPOCLGBTQ+ communities, ensuring they had a safe and welcoming place to connect and heal.

Today, my work extends beyond the one-on-one sessions. I consult with organizations, helping them develop programs and strengthen their leadership teams. I guide them to understand the impact of historical trauma so they can better support their own communities. Every day, I work to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their best self, right in the center of their own story.
