Kassi Newhart – Intern

I’m a graduate-level counseling intern who believes therapy works best when it feels collaborative, supportive, and genuine. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable showing up as themselves while we work together toward healing and personal growth.

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, meaning I focus on helping clients recognize their existing resilience, abilities, and potential rather than viewing them only through their struggles. I believe each person’s experiences, identity, and needs are unique, so I value building a therapeutic relationship that feels authentic and personalized rather than using a single approach for every client.
I also enjoy incorporating art and creative expression into therapy when it feels helpful for the client. Art can offer another way to process emotions, explore experiences, and express thoughts or feelings that may be hard to put into words.
I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, stress, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. I believe collaboration is an important part of the therapeutic process, and I want clients to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their own growth and healing.
